Around 200 Rabbitohs Members converged on the Simply Energy High Performance Centre to take part in our 2017 Members Open Day. Members enjoyed a junior clinic, open training session and the opportunity to mingle with their Rabbitohs on a sunny day in Redfern.
Redfern Oval filled quickly after the Rabbitohs opened their gates to Members at 11am, with almost 60 Junior Members partaking in an NRL Skills Clinic prior to the Rabbitohs training session.
The main event took place afterwards with the Rabbitohs squad taking the field for an open training session. After finishing there was an opportunity for Members to interact with their Rabbitohs before they left the field.
Bungee trampolines kept the kids interested after their clinic, snow cones helped beat the heat and P&O held a massive giveaway of a free cruise to one lucky Member. It was a day that resonated with the players thanks to the positivity of our Members.
"It's a rugby league community and everyone loves it in this area. It makes everyone happy. It's good to see families get together on the weekend and go to a park and play a game. It brings a smile to a lot of faces here," said Adam Reynolds.
"We get a fair amount of support every week from locals in the community, and we love it. It doesn't matter how old they are; they'll make sure they come here to support us.
"The park is always open so people are encouraged to come down and watch and we buzz off that.
"It's great to put smiles on kids' faces when we chat to them after training, and hopefully it can inspire some of them to play the game when they're a bit older."
