Rabbitohs women ready to bounce back

South Sydney Rabbitohs teammates Eloise Vunakece and Kimbaley Kershaw both agree that after the Red and Greens first loss of the season, the team need knuckle down and focus until the end of the season.

Having gone ten games undefeated, the Rabbitohs fell to a last start loss to CRL Newcastle.

The Rabbitohs will now look to bounce back against in their next match against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, which Vunakece and Kershaw both believe can be fixed with a bit of training.

"There's a lot of things we need to work on obviously but we all played as hard as we could. I don't the exact answer on how we bounce back but I suppose we play harder next game," said Vunakece.

"Everyone needs to work hard at training and come next game we need to put it all on the line because now we've had that first loss we need to bounce back immediately," Kershaw elaborated.

While the loss is never what any team wants sometimes its needed to help centralise a side's focus as they head into the championship rounds on any competition.

For both Kershaw and Vunakece it's a blessing in disguise, forcing the team to put the foot back down on the throttle.

"After the game, I said we've had that loss now, which I'm glad we've had now because we haven't had it in the finals," Kershaw said.

"Having this loss will now push us to be 110 per cent for the remainder of the season."

Vunakece reiterated her teammate's views: "I think it would have been nicer to have this loss earlier but we've had a good run and we kind of needed that loss to try and switch everyone back into gear."
