Rabbitohs Members & Supporters win with all-new food and beverage prices at ANZ Stadium

A day or night at the footy will be more affordable following the introduction of all-new food and beverage prices at ANZ Stadium, home ground of the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

ANZ Stadium will introduce the new pricing from this weekend and they will be in play for the Rabbitohs’ Round 13 game against the Newcastle Knights on Friday 7 June, providing all Rabbitohs Members and supporters an early start to their long weekend celebrations at the match.

ANZ Stadium CEO Daryl Kerry said today food and beverage prices would be as much as 15 to 20 per cent lower than normal in the public areas of the Stadium.

Mr Kerry said ANZ Stadium was working closely with Venues NSW, the government agency that owns the venue, and the South Sydney Rabbitohs to ensure fans get better value for money when they enjoy food and beverages at the Stadium.

“Our aim is to make a day or night at the footy more affordable for the fans, and especially families,” Mr Kerry said.

“We are confident fans will feel they are getting better value for their food and beverage purchases at ANZ Stadium.

“The Stadium team is committed to doing all we can, in conjunction with the codes and the clubs, to encourage people to leave their lounge rooms and get out to the footy.

“The NSW Government – and especially Venues NSW – should be congratulated for their commitment not only to rebuild the State’s stadia network but also to make it more affordable for fans to enjoy the live sport and entertainment experience.”

Fans will pay less than $5 for the following six footy fare favourites at ANZ Stadium from 1 June:

·       Beef pie (160g): $4.90

·       Classic hot dog: $4.90

·       Regular hot chips (340g): $4.90

·       Sausage roll (110g): $4.50

·       Coca-Cola original (600ml): $4.90

·       Mount Franklin water (600ml): $4.30

All-new and reduced beer prices will also be introduced at ANZ Stadium:

·       Light beer - $6.50

·       Australian lager - $7.20

·       Imported beer - $8.50

*Mid-strength beer served in the public areas.

Beer prices will also be reduced on the Rabbitohs’ P&O Members’ Deck on the north-west terrace of ANZ Stadium, where there is a full range of beverages.

The all-new food and beverage prices will replace the 5% Club Member discount at home games at ANZ Stadium, with Members far better off under the new pricing model.

The new prices are comparable to those offered at the Stadium in 2011, and are generally lower than at other major stadiums around the country. They are in line with the food and beverage prices that have proved so popular at Bankwest Stadium, another venue under the Venues NSW umbrella.

Mr Kerry said families and fans would also still be able to bring their own food and non-alcoholic, non-glass bottled drinks from home to ANZ Stadium.

ANZ Stadium General Manager of Catering, Andreas Breitfuss, said the Stadium’s 27 permanent food outlets, 59 bars and 15 tea & coffee kiosks in the public areas would continue to carry all the food favourites that fans enjoy at the footy.

He added that the Stadium will soon introduce a new range of food and beverage items that reflect the diversity of Sydney and considers the changing tastes of consumers across NSW.

“We are improving and diversifying our range of food options while recognising the fact a lot of people still like to enjoy footy favourites like a pie and beer when they come to watch their favourite team in action,” Mr Breitfuss said.

Rabbitohs Chief Commercial Officer Shannon Donato said it has never been more affordable to have a day out at the footy with the family for Rabbitohs Members and supporters.

“Our Members and supporters have really taken to the Fans First initiatives that we have implemented over the past couple of seasons in conjunction with ANZ Stadium, and I’m sure they will welcome the 15-20 per cent reduction in food and beverage prices across their offerings at our game day events,” Mr Donato said.

“With integrated rail travel including direct trains from Central that get you to Sydney Olympic Park from the city in under 25 minutes; plus great ticket offers like pre-purchased family tickets for $40, adult tickets from $20 and Gold Reserve tickets from $25 for our game against the Knights in round 13, it’s never been more affordable to come to the footy.”

The all-new food and beverage pricing at ANZ Stadium is complemented by integrated train travel in the cost of all tickets and Rabbitohs Club Memberships to regular-season NRL games at ANZ Stadium. Fans with a valid ticket or Rabbitohs Club Membership do not pay for train travel to and from ANZ Stadium.
