Rabbitohs keep building says Coach Seibold

South Sydney Rabbitohs Head Coach Anthony Seibold is convinced that the quality time the team spent together in Canberra will go a long way - but there will be no let off through the rest of pre-season.

The Rabbitohs spent four days training in the world-class facilities at the Australian Institute of Sport and Coach Seibold was pleased with work ethic, application and attitude shown by his side during the camp.

“We are on a course as far as building upon our game model and what we think is important to play well this year and that won’t change,” he said.

“Anytime we can spend the amount of time we did down there is going to have a positive effect but it’s certainly not going to be a quick fix.”

Alongside the tough workouts, the Rabbitohs also had meetings with Olympians Jane Saville and Matt Shirvington, as well as psychologist for the Australian Institute of Sport psychologist Gaylene Clews, who Coach Seibold believes sparked a few takeaways for the team.

“They all had different messages to give to the group but it was great for them to come in a share their stories and there were plenty of takeaways from those three guys that we had come in and spend time with the group.”

Returning back to training this week, Coach Seibold is well aware of the areas that need improving and says that its business as usual from now until the end of the season.

“Nothing really changes for us we’ve planned our approach and integrated a common sense approach from when I took over the job,” added Coach Seibold.

“We are certainly under no illusions about having to improve and work hard.”
