The South Sydney Rabbitohs are proud to support and cheer on three Rabbitohs fans who are competing at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Zoe Arancini and the Australian Women's Water Polo team will compete in the quarter-finals tomorrow morning while hockey player, Glenn Turner and boxer Shelley Watts Olympic Gold Medal dreams have come to an end.
Shelley Watts lost her first Olympic fight against Italy's Irma Testa in a close bout on Saturday morning. Watts, standing 10cm shorter than Testa, lost 1-2 with two judges giving a 37-39 score in favour of Testa while the third judge gave a 39-37 win to Watts.
Despite her journey coming to an end, Watts has definitely made an impact at the Olympics, supporting and cheering on her fellow Australian teammates in every spare moment she gets. She was even digitally thanked by the Australian Olympic Committee for her social media coverage on the Games and named the Australian Olympic Team mascot.

The Australian Men’s Hockey team Olympic Campaign is over after a devastating loss to a strong Netherlands side in the quarter-final.
The tough match saw the World Ranked number 1 and 2 countries battled it out but it was the Netherlands who were better on the day and secured their semi-final position in a 4-0 win over Australia.
The Men started out strong defeating geographical neighbours, New Zealand, 2-1 in their first game. The team however were not strong enough when up against Spain and Belgium going down to both teams 0-1.
The team went on to defeat Great Britain 2-1 and dominate in their game against Brazil defeating the side 9-0. Glenn Turner had a fantastic game claiming his first Rio goal scoring a hat-trick off two penalty corners and a field goal.

In the Water Polo, Zoe Arancini made an impact scoring her Olympic debut goal in the first game of the Women’s team Olympic campaign against Russia. Australia encountered a tough game next, losing to Italy 7-8 but the bump in the road didn’t stop them for long and Australia went on to defeat host nation Brazil 10-3.
