Rabbitohs players mingled with Rugby League fans at Aotea Square today (Friday) ahead of the weekend's Auckland Nines tournament.
The heart of Auckland, Aotea Square, was packed as the Rabbitohs entered to the tune of 'Glory, Glory To South Sydney' and spent time taking photos, signing autographs and chatting to excited Rugby League fans.
"It's a great turnout, it's good to see all the fans - they make it extra special coming over here for the Nines tournament," said Rabbitohs hooker Damien Cook.
The entire playing squad was present and rotated around Aotea Square to meet as many fans as possible. Doing their part in helping provide as much as they can to the local Auckland fans.
"It's just about giving back to the community, it's good to meet the fans," said Cook.
With the Auckland Nines kicking off tomorrow, Cook is excited to lace up the boots and get his first taste of NRL before the 2017 tournament.
"It's good fun to come over to Auckland for the Nines, all the boys are ready to go as well," said Cook.
"We've been training well so we're ready to rip in and finally good to have the footy back."
