'One of the best nights of my life' - O'Mealey

There isn't much South Sydney Rabbitohs half Lavina O'Mealey hasn't conquered in the game of Rugby League but says her recent NSW triumph might just be her best yet.

With a raucous crowd of close to 7,000 people cheering on O'Mealey and her fellow Blues teammates after the siren, the Jillaroos five-eighth said she could barely contain her excitement.

"That was probably one of the best nights of my life," beamed O'Mealey.

"I was saying that after the final hooter to the rest of the girls that is probably one of the best nights of my life,

"The crowd and the atmosphere was crazy I've never played in something like that before and to hear them chant NSW! NSW! NSW! and my name too was just crazy."

The inaugural Women's State of Origin clash brought supporters out in droves creating an experience like none other for O'Mealey.

"I got chills when I first ran out I could feel the fire behind me I was getting chills in my feet and it made me want to get out there so much more," said O'Mealey.

In amongst the crowd were O'Mealey's fellow Rabbitohs teammates who got the crowd singing her name in the closing stages of the match.

"That the South Sydney spirit there,"

"That's our sisterhood I can't wait to go back it up with them next week."

With five Red and Green stars in the NSW team, O'Mealey transition to from Club footy to rep was simple, with NSW Head Coach Ben Cross giving O'Mealey and halves partner Maddie Studdon license to thrill.

"'Crossy' gave us the reins to play our kind of football me and Mads and we used our South Sydney plays and they led to tries both times we tried to pull it off," O'Mealey said.

"With that combination, it made it a lot easier for our forwards and having that structure already in place helped us a lot in getting the win."

Adding another accolade to her already impressive resume there isn't much left for the O'Mealey to tick off but the Rabbitohs captain still has a few items left to add to her collection.

"Winning the premiership for South Sydney and helping the game grow so that I can hand it over to the next set of girls who will become superstars of our game."
