A total of Nine South Sydney Rabbitohs players have this week been selected to take part in the NSW Junior Pathways Program from today (Tuesday), with Club SG Ball Coach, Matt King, named as one of six mentors.
Five players from the Club’s SG Ball (under 18s) – Dylan O’Connor, Cameron Murray, Emre Guler, Campbell Graham, Kurtis Preece – and four from the Harold Matthews (under 16s) side –Berat Kaya, Ky Bouris, Egan Butcher, Raine Dellow – will take part in the camp.
Incumbent NSW Blues hooker, Robbie Farah, will join True Blues legends Brad Fittler, Shaun Timmins, Brett Finch, Luke Bailey and King in guiding the next wave of Blues players at the Sydney Academy of Sport both until tomorrow (Wednesday).
The 26-man squads will be put through a series of anthropometric tests, player welfare, and education information sessions and on-field positional skills training sessions.
The NSW Pathways Program is designed to develop the next wave of Blues players as they obtain the attributes in what it takes on and off the field to become a future NSW Blues Origin player.
The NSW Under-16s and 18s will play the curtain-raiser ahead of this year’s Origin I and II respectively.
