Rabbitohs Member Joe Raiti, who emigrated to Australia from Italy as an eight year old, became a Rabbitohs fan in 1965 thanks to a simple question from his local butcher.
Shortly after settling into Sydney, Joe was asked by his mother to head to the local butcher to get some meat for dinner. It was mid-September, 1965, and the Rabbitohs and the St George Dragons were about to clash in one of the biggest Grand Finals of all time.
"The butcher asked me who did I support in the final - the Dragons or the Rabbits?" said Raiti.
"Having only just arrived from Italy I didn't know what a dragon was. But I did know about Rabbits and so I declared to the butcher "Rabbits!" and have never looked back since."
Joe has seen over 52 years of highs and lows for the Rabbitohs - from exclusion to winning the Premiership in 2014. Picture above is Joe and his kids preparing to head to the 2014 Grand Final match at ANZ Stadium.
