Luke Keary returns at halfback for the Rabbitohs on Friday night after spending a week on the sidelines owing to an ankle injury.
And the playmakers return has come at just the right time, with regular halves Adam Reynolds (NSW) and Greg Inglis (QLD) both in their respective State of Origin camps for Game II.
Keary will re-ignite his early-season combination with Cody Walker against the Parramatta Eels on Friday, and the pivot is feeling confident following his week off.
“I probably maybe could have played if it was a Saturday or a Sunday game,” said Keary this week.
“But I just didn’t pull up right for the Friday night, so had a week off.
“We’ll tinker around the halves there and come up with something on Friday.
“You want to perform every time you play – it’s no different this week.”
Keary and his men in Red and Green will be looking to bounce back this week following last week’s loss to the Wests Tigers.
“We’re not playing the footy that we want to at the moment,” said Keary.
“But there’s nothing we can do about what’s already done – we’ll just work as hard as we can to try and improve.”
