I'm Not Getting Ahead Of Myself: Murray

Cameron Murray spoke to the media ahead of Friday night’s Indigenous Round clash with the Wests Tigers at anz stadium, with the forward reflecting on his debut in round eight.

“It was a very special and emotional night for me,” explained Murray.

“It was a dream come true really so it would have been better to top it off with a win but that’s just how it goes and I’m just looking to improve my game and put my best foot forward for the team.”

Despite his excitement of making his debut, Murray is focused on not getting ahead of himself and keeping grounded.

“It is hard. Growing up as a young kid you hear stories of people getting too ahead of themselves.

“That’s one of my main focuses now, just trying to keep myself grounded, not getting too ahead of myself and doing my best for the team.”

Coming off playing for the Junior Kangaroos in last week’s Rep Round, Murray describes the Junior ANZAC match result as one that didn’t reflect how hard the game was.

“We put quite a score on them, it probably didn’t reflect how hard the game was. It was my first 80 minutes in the middle this year, so it was one of the toughest games I’ve played this year but it was really good and I was really proud to represent my country.”
