Characteristically humble, Rabbitohs Forward Jason Clark felt honoured to claim the Bob McCarthy Clubman Of The Year Award at Friday's Red & Green Ball.
Clark was thrilled to claim the Bob McCarthy Clubman Of The Year Award not only for the recognition of his generous and tireless contributions to the local community and the Rabbitohs but also because of the great respect he has for the award's namesake; Bob McCarthy.
"Being a local junior and knowing Bob McCarthy pretty well - I remember being a kid, about ten years old, and playing in the Bob McCarthy Cup from Malabar Public School so I've got a lot of history with Bob McCarthy and I'm very honoured to have an award named after him," said Clark.
Clark was humble in accepting the award and made efforts to draw attention to the whole team's contribution to the local community.
"I'm not the only person that does it so I can't take all the wraps for that. There's plenty that a lot of people don't see. I just lend a hand whenever I can and I like to keep smiles on faces."
