Gagai wants ANZ filled with Red and Green

The ANZ Stadium experience has got the price revamp it needed and no one wants to see the stands packed out in red and green more than new South Sydney Rabbitohs recruit Dane Gagai.

Speaking from ANZ Stadium in his first press conference since joining the club, Gagai was optimistic about the numbers that the new 'Fans First' initiative is likely to attract.

“I think it’s going to be unreal if we can achieve the numbers that we’re looking for all clubs,” said Gagai.

“Obviously I’ve had the opportunity to represent my state and play here and when you get the numbers here it’s one of the best stadiums you can play at.

“Probably not so much for a Queenslander but I’m wearing the right colors now so definitely looking forward to seeing the fans turn up.”

The new initiates ushered in by the NRL and the four clubs that call ANZ Stadium their home, aim to attract supporters of either clubs through:

The move seeks to attract not only more numbers but more families to game. Gagai who is only just starting out a family of his own sees the positives as both a player and a father.

“It’s great that [the price has] dropped so that it’s more affordable.”

“When you’ve got 3, 4, 5 kids it definitely makes it a bit tougher,” Gagai added. “It’s not only great for the fans but it’s great for us as players because at the end of the day we wouldn’t be able to do what we do if it wasn’t for the fans. To see the numbers turn up you definitely want to put on a show for them.”

“I grew up as a kid loving my footy, playing back home in Mackay. Every year I’d look up to these players and now I’m fortunate enough to be one of those so now I just want to be able to inspire the next generation.”

With the deals set in place and the season approaching quicker than ever, Dane Gagai had one final message for Members and supporters looking to cheer on their team in 2018.

“It’s great that everyone involved has dropped those ticket prices and put on those deals for families.”

“There really isn’t any reason why you can’t make it now. I’d love to see everyone turn up.”
