Robbie Rochow is eyeing off a spot in next season’s 17-man squad as the training and weather heats up in week four of pre-season training.
With the release of the draw yesterday (Thursday), Rochow is focusing on his footy and the hard work ahead as he aims for his goal to take the field against the Wests Tigers in round 1, 2017.
“I haven’t looked too much at the draw yet but my goal is to make the 17 for next year so to play in the first Friday night would be a major step for me,” said Rochow.
“I definitely will be looking forward to playing that Friday night against the Tigers but there is a lot of hard work between here and then.”
New to the Simply Energy High Performance Centre at Redfern Oval, Rochow says he is fitting in well and despite the competition heating up, has already made some good mates within the team.
“It’s really good, it’s starting to heat up a little bit, there are some hot long sessions but we are definitely doing a lot more skills stuff on the field now and it’s a good feel and everyone is competing really hard.
“All the boys are really welcoming here and it’s a great place to be and it’s good being out on the field with the boys.
“They are all really welcoming and I’ve made some good mates already so looking forward to playing with them next year.”
