Rabbitohs CEO Blake Solly is encouraging the next generation to continue studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects in school by signing up for an exciting new competition called the South Sydney STEM Cup!
-----
Dear Supporters,
A couple of weeks ago the Rabbitohs announced an exciting new competition called the South Sydney STEM Cup. The STEM Cup challenges students and fans from around Australia to use their maths and problem solving skills to allocate salaries to the 2018 South Sydney Rabbitohs players within the NRL salary cap.
Students and fans can compete to become the nation’s leading ‘Capologist’ with the chance to win an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience with the Rabbitohs’ players, coaches and Capologist Peter Legg at one of the Rabbitohs 2018 home matches. The ‘Capologist’ negotiates player contracts, salary figures and ensures the team works within the NRL salary cap guidelines. The winning students will have salary figures closest to the real Rabbitohs’ Capologist, Peter Legg.
The primary aim of the program is to encourage the next generation to continue studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects in school. It’s essential that we encourage young people to consider STEM careers as these futures are exciting, well-paying and help empower innovation in Australia’s economy.
I want to personally encourage our community of Members and supporters to participate in the South Sydney STEM Cup and share this opportunity with your family and friends. We wish all participants the best of luck and look forward to hosting the competition winners next year!
