Cook – Positive Mood Ahead of Round 10 Clash

Rabbitohs hooker, Damien Cook, believes that there is plenty of positive energy around the playing group as they prepare to take on the Parramatta Eels in Round 10 of the Telstra Premiership at Pirtek Stadium on Friday night.

With all clubs enjoying the week off due to the Representative Round, Cook believes that his side will be rejuvenated and ready to go when they take the field against a determined Eels outfit.

“Everyone’s freshened up and (has) come into training ready to go this week,” said Cook.

“Just before we had a bit of time off, we trained really hard and worked on some little things that we needed to do.”

Despite enduring a tough period of the season, the Rabbitohs rake believes that his team needs to continue to put in the work and band together as a team ahead of Friday’s clash.

“We need to realise that we’re the 17 players on the field and we’re the only ones that can get us out of this at the moment,” said Cook.

“We just need to stick together – it’s just about doing it for one another.”

The Rabbitohs will have the chance to showcase that grit and determination against the Eels.

“Obviously, there’s some stuff in the background that they can’t control, but they’re there to play football and that’s what they’ll do,” said Cook.

“They’ll want to win the game, so they’re going to be a hard contest.”

Cook will be looking to have another solid game this week, backing up from his Round 9 efforts against the Tigers which saw him run for 43 metres with ball in hand and complete 46 tackles.
