Cook Excited For Reynolds Milestone

Damien Cook describes the game as ‘very special’ for teammate Adam Reynolds who could potentially surpass 1000 career points against the Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park on Saturday.

“It’s very special,” said Cook.

“Hopefully it happens this weekend, I’m sure it will. Only three points to get so it would be a good moment for him on the field as well.

“He has had a couple of injuries that he has had to deal with this year, it’s been a tough year for him and to see him get that milestone, it will be something special and I’m looking forward to getting him those three points and many more on the weekend.”

While the results haven’t been in favour of the Rabbitohs this season, the strong comradery shown between the team has been evident and Cook has described the buzz around training as they prepare for the trip down to Melbourne.

“It’s definitely been a lot better feeling, a long season for us and it’s good to be playing some good footy especially for our Members. I think the reason why, is that we have simplified our game plan and everyone knows their role on the field now.

“I know it’s a bit late for that but we are building for next year as well and hopefully we can keep the wins going. We are definitely going down to Melbourne to get the job done.

“There is a good buzz around training. Like I said everyone is enjoying their footy, we are winning but everyone in the back of their minds are disappointed that we are not going to be playing finals football this year but hopefully we can keep this environment that we’ve built over the year and take it into next year.

“There is no difference in our preparation. We get to spend a bit more time with the boys which we all love doing so I’m sure once we get down to Melbourne we’ll settle in. We love our card games and that so it will be a good environment.”
