Brittain and Tatola joins Rabbitohs for 2018 season

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce the signings of hooker Billy Brittain and front rower Tevita Tatola for the 2018 season.

Brittain, 23, is a hooker who has come through the ranks at the Melbourne Storm and Brisbane Broncos to star in the Cup competition in Queensland with the Sunshine Coast Falcons and Norths Devils. He was made captain of Norths as a 21-year old, showing his leadership qualities at an early stage of his career.

Head Coach Anthony Seibold

"Both Billy and Junior come to us with elite junior backgrounds."

The son of former Australian Rules player, Craig Brittain, Billy played for the Australian Schoolboys Rugby Union side and will be looking to show his wares during pre-season training for a potential NRL start in pre-season matches against Wigan and the Dragons.

Tevita ‘Junior’ Tatola, 21, played in the Intrust Super Premiership, Holden Cup and junior representative teams with the Tigers, and also represented the Junior Kangaroos in 2016.

Rabbitohs Head Coach Anthony Seibold is happy to be adding to the depth of the Rabbitohs’ forward stocks.

“Both Billy and Junior come to us with elite junior backgrounds,” Coach Seibold said.

“Billy is a real competitor and is a good leader as shown with his captaincy positions with Queensland Cup clubs in recent seasons. He comes from a good pedigree having been the Australian Rugby Schoolboys number ten and he was also part of the QAS Emerging Origin under 20s group.

“Junior was a Junior Kangaroo and has always had the ability to progress to the higher levels of the game. This is an opportunity for him to show how much he wants to play at the NRL level.”
