Allende smiling again as Rabbitohs return to winning ways

South Sydney Rabbitohs women's team Head Coach Danny Allende is smiling again following his side's bounce-back win against Cabramatta this evening.

Following a rough patch through the month of June, the Rabbitohs asserted themselves as competition heavy-weights once again with a strong display and one that Allende was delighted to see.

"I haven't smiled for a while I've almost forgotten what its like!" Allende laughed.

"It was just good to see them happy they've been working hard all year and they deserve this win."

With a full week of training under their belts and the start of a very special NAIDOC Week for the team, the Red and Green were back to their damaging best at Redfern Oval.

"Very special for us Naidoc Week especially as this year's theme is because of her, we can," said Allende.

"Women play a very special role in our lives and they're leaders in our community, it's been an honour to have coached these girls.

"They worked really hard this week and deserved this win today."

The win puts the Rabbitohs within in one game of the minor premiership, but Allende has not let that be a focus for the team and says he is just happy to have a full team training again as they gear up for finals footy.

We're not quite there yet but we had a full squad at training this week for the first time in about five weeks," said Allende.

"Some are still carrying injuries but they're all starting to get back to peak fitness, that's no excuse of course but it was good to get two hit-outs this week and a few gym sessions in to get a bit of consistency, which is great."
