South Sydney Rabbitohs women's team Coach Danny Allende has praised his side's 100 percent performance after yesterday's crushing 78-2 win over the Wentworthville Magpies.
After a tough draw two weeks ago halted the Red and Green's winning streak, the women from South Sydney put on a try-fest at Norford Oval, proving that they are still the side to beat in the Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership.
While the impressive scoreline was a treat for the eye to see, Coach Allende was extremely pleased to see that the extra work in training really paid off in an unfaultable performance.
"I thought the girls played really disciplined football I don't think they even made a mistake," said Allende
"They got where they needed to get to, it was a really impressive performance."
While there were plenty of points scored in the 60-minutes of football the highlight reel was dominated by winger Taleena Simon, who bagged six four-pointers, however, for Allende, it was the work through the middle that really set the tone for the match, whilst also praising the return of captain Lavina O'Mealey to the side.
"She (Simon) certainly was but I think Taleena will be the first to admit that our forwards who really dominated yesterday, allowed her to play her game but she was on fire yesterday and it was beautiful to see," explained Allende.
"She (O'Mealey) returned and it's like she's got all the time of the world everything she does looks like it's in slow-mo everyone just hangs off her and she does what she wants.
"When the captain's back everyone just gets to it, it was great to see her back out there."
With the finals a few rounds away and still plenty of rep football to be played for many of the Red and Green stars, the Rabbitohs women still have plenty of work to do but Allende has no concerns that his team will drop their intensity anytime soon.
"This side you really don't need to (focus), they are their own harshest critics they've known when they've played well and they know when they've played bad," said Allende.
"It's an old cliché but we're just taking it as it comes."
