Our win against Manly in round five had a bit of everything in it, but ultimately, we held strong and managed to grind out a win at Brookvale.
Seeing young guys like Cameron McInnes and Chris Grevsmuhl dominate the statistics and lead from the front was awesome to see. Sure it didn’t come easy, but nothing worth doing does. We know we have things to improve on, so I am glad and proud that we held on, showed character and took home the two points.
So now to this week. Friday night against the Roosters is an opportunity to fine-tune our game. We need to build on what we’ve done well.
Make no mistake, we cannot underestimate the Roosters. This is the game’s biggest rivalry and as such, they’ll be up for it. They will be trying to defy a five-day turn around and a golden-point loss coming into this game too.

So, where can we improve? Second-phase play – more offloads! We know our big fellas can break the line, we know they know where the try-line is, but if we can get the ball away on the way down, we will put some extra sting in our attack.
We have some slippery players out there with speed, so if we can get the ball away to the likes of Inglis, Gray, Auva’a, and finishers of that quality, we’ll surely go a long way to being on the front foot.
The Roosters have some good wingers and centres, so there’s no doubt our boys will have their hands full, but there are also plenty of golden opportunities across the park as well as plenty of great matchups!
Friday night is OUR home game, so it’s up to us – the Members – to make sure it feels that way. It has the makings of a very memorable night. Would you miss it? Absolutely not!
I too am hungry to take these two points. It’s going to be a cracker that I am not going to miss a second of.
Let’s go and get them! Up the MIGHTY Rabbitohs!
