On this day in 1969, John Sattler became the third Rabbitoh to captain his country!
During a decade’s worth of service to South Sydney, Sattler played 195 first grade games, played in four Premiership winning teams and six Grand Finals and represented the Kangaroos.
He is most commonly known for playing on in the 1970 Grand Final with a broken jaw, going down in Rugby League folklore as one of the toughest players to ever play the game!
