The run home

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are in fine form in 2018, sitting in second place on the NRL ladder and on an eight-game winning streak.

With the bye this round the Red and Green are enjoying an easier week at the office.

With the action settling down we decided to take a look at the Rabbitohs run home heading into finals time.

Round 18 - Bulldogs

First up after the bye in Round 18 is the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Saturday afternoon clash at ANZ Stadium.

The Bulldogs troubles have been well documented but when they met the Rabbitohs back in Round 4 they were more than game with a last ditched effort from young lock forward Cameron Murray stealing the victory late for Souths.

There is no doubt the Bulldogs will be out for revenge and the Cardinal and Myrtle will need to be on their game.

Round 19 & 25 - Wests Tigers

The Rabbitohs will have two big games against the Wests Tigers both at ANZ Stadium in the run home.

First up is Round 19 where the pride of the league will be celebrating Rabbitohs legend John Sutton's 300th game in Souths colours.

The second game is the always exciting last game of the season, which can often define a team's season.

Souths will need to be wary of the joint venture side, who will be out to win at all costs in a bid to make the top eight.

Round 20 - Eels

The Rabbitohs return to ANZ Stadium for a third week in Round 20 to start their three-match run of home games at the Olympic Stadium.

The Parramatta Eels have also struggled this year but having pushed the Rabbitohs in their last encounter in Round 14 and challenged some of the best teams throughout the year, they will be no pushovers in Round 20 as they attempt to avoid the wooden spoon.

Round 21 - Storm

A big encounter with one of the most dominant teams of the last decade, the Rabbitohs welcome the Melbourne Storm to Sydney for the first time since 2014.

Arguably the Rabbitohs biggest challenge in their pursuit for the minor premiership the Storm will no doubt test the Red and Green throughout the 80-minute contest.

Round 22 - Roosters

You don't want to miss this one, the oldest rivalry in Rugby League returns to ANZ Stadium when the "Sydney" Roosters and the Rabbitohs clash for the second leg of the Ron Coote Cup and two vital competition points.

Last time the two sides met the Rabbitohs once again put on a second-half clinic to sweep past the tri-colours in a memorable victory.

However, with the Roosters starting to hit their straps in recent weeks and many of their young stars fresh from strong Origin performances, the Rabbitohs are faced with an even bigger challenge in topping their biggest rival but will no doubt be up for the contest.

Round 23 - Broncos

With just two matches remaining in the regular season will travel up to Brisbane to take on one of the biggest challenges in the NRL, toppling the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.

The last time these two battle it out it was ANZAC Day in a game that slipped away from the Rabbitohs as they allowed to Broncos to snag two points from under their noses.

The Rabbitohs definitely want to avenge the defeat in Brisbane whilst also snapping a six-game losing streak against the Broncos.

Round 24 - Raiders

In their last regular season away the Rabbitohs travel down to the nation's capital to take on the Canberra Raiders.

The Rabbitohs put on a football clinic when they first met the Raiders this year in Gosford running out comfortable winners.

However, circumstances have changed and with the Raiders also vying for a mathematical finals spot they will be up for the challenge of hosting a top-four side.
