Over 150 Mudgee juniors turned out for Souths Cares Junior Clinic yesterday (Tuesday) held at Glen Willow Regional Sports Complex - the venue for the 2018 Charity Shield clash between the Rabbitohs and Dragons!
Souths Cares Ambassador and former player Beau Champion and current Rabbitoh Kyle Turner spent the day visiting four primary schools in the region and educating over 900 students on the importance of oral health care before taking part in the clinic.
Turner, who grew up in the rural community of Coonabarabran just north of Mudgee, enjoyed re-connecting with his roots by taking part in the clinic to support rural NRL fans.
"You don't realise how much it actually means to the kids to come out here and be involved, talked to them and play games with them," said Turner.
"It means a lot to them and it means a lot to us players that we can do it.
"To see the kids enjoy themselves the way they are and interacting with the kids is really fun actually - I'm enjoying it."
Souths Cares are currently running their third Regional Oral Health Tour in partnership with Colgate in Mudgee and ended a huge first day with this junior footy clinic.
The bush footy clinic ran for an hour and a half and ran children from age six to sixteen through a range of NRL skills and drills.
