Rabbitohs centre Bryson Goodwin has been named as Captain for the Auckland Nines, replacing Adam Reynolds who was withdrawn from the tournament as a precaution due to hamstring tightness.

Goodwin is entering his fifth year with the Rabbitohs and has been a part of the Rabbitohs Auckland Nines squads in 2015 and 2016. With 153 NRL games under his belt, Maguire is looking to Goodwin to use his experience in guiding his exciting young Nines squad this weekend.

Rabbitohs hooker Brad Deitz has been brought into the squad to replace Reynolds. Deitz had a strong season for the North Sydney Bears in 2016.
