As the countdown until kick off continues in the New Year, the Rabbitohs are focused and looking forward to the season ahead following a short break over the Christmas period.

Hymel Hunt explains the strength of the leadership group within preseason training and the positive impact they are having on the younger players.

“There’s a lot of energy,” said Hunt.

“We’ve got a lot of new faces around here and they are bringing a lot of energy into the team but there’s a big influence on the senior boys, they’re driving hard to push the squad especially guys like Sutto (John Sutton) and Bry (Bryson Goodwin).

“I feel like they bring a lot of energy to training and all us young boys are feeding off it so it’s an awesome feeling and I’m excited for the first trial.”

Spending his Christmas break back home with family and friends, Hunt’s focus is to start the year strong in preparation for the season.

“Obviously starting the year strong, we’ve got our first trial soon so week in week out every day I’m trying to do the best I can and preparing for that.

“I’m looking forward it and I’m excited.”
