Rabbitohs Second-Rower Angus Crichton was at NRL HQ, Moore Park, earlier today (Wednesday) to help unveil all the Auckland Nines Club Jerseys ahead of the tournament in February.
Donning our new Auckland Nines Jersey, Crichton is feeling excited by the prospect of taking part in the upcoming tournament to be played at Eden Park, Auckland.
"I've been itching to play footy ever since we stopped at the end of this year - I just can't wait to get back on the field," said Crichton.
"Nines is always good fun, always extra space, you can throw the ball around a bit. I can't wait."
Crichton missed our 2016 campaign but was a big part of our successful Auckland Nines run in 2015, helping the Rabbitohs lift the trophy as an 18-year old. To be back in an Auckland Nines Jersey is a feeling that leaves the young second-rower excited to possibly feature in Maguire's Nines Squad.
"It's been a while since I've put the jersey on. It feels good. I can't wait to get back on the field, start throwing the footy around and get back into the trials. It's the best part of the year," said Crichton.
"It's very loud and they all get right behind you, either if they're mocking you or if they're on your side so it's good fun either way,
"It's a very exciting form of rugby league and I can't wait to get stuck in."
