Rabbitohs front-rower, Dave Tyrrell, knows that his side must focus on the areas of the game they can control when they take on the Brisbane Broncos at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.
Despite coming up against a strong Broncos outfit, Tyrrell knows that his side must focus on aspects of their own game rather than the threat posed by the 6th placed contenders.
“The Broncos are a good team, but we’re just focused on ourselves and playing our best footy,” said Tyrrell.
“All we can control is this week, so our focus is solely on the Broncos,
“Things haven’t been good and we want to change that around.”
Having come up short in recent weeks, Tyrell knows improvements must be made if his side is to compete on a week to week basis.
“We want to win, but we know that our performance dictates whether we win or lose, so it’s up to us to put our best foot forward,” said the front-rower.
Coming off the bye in Round 18, Tyrrell believes that his side will benefit from the break as they head into the back-end of the season.
“Rugby league is a pretty tough game, so any rest is very welcomed,”
“It’s a good chance to get away. I went back to Brisbane myself to see the family and got a chance to relax and reset.”
Tyrrell will be looking to back-up his solid performance against the Cowboys in Cairns, which saw him run for 108 metres with play in hand and complete 30 tackles in a 42 minute display.
