Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire talks us through the changes he’s made to his line-up and provides us with his insights into our Friday clash with the Penrith Panthers at Pepper Stadium.

Excited by the prospect of our Origin stars returning for Friday’s match, Coach Maguire is also keen to see how our newer Rabbitohs respond to the opportunity they’ll be given when we take the field at Pepper Stadium.

“Over the last couple of weeks we’ve been hitting our form at stages in games but it’s about being able to achieve that right throughout the game. A number of players will come back from Origin and a number of players will come in and get their big opportunity,” Coach Maguire said.

“It’s brilliant (having) those two players coming back from that level of footy and I’m sure our boys will enjoy and lift for those guys obviously playing two days prior.

“It’s also good to see a lot of boys in our team getting opportunities – it might possibly be in a few different positions – but also some new guys coming in as well.”

Maguire pointed out the strength of our left edge as Greg Inglis takes his position in the centres. The possibility to combine Sutton and Keary’s chemistry with the power play of Inglis will add a lot to the Rabbitohs attack.

Most importantly Maguire is expecting a positive attitude from his squad as they take the field against the Panthers off the back of our previous performances.

“I’ve seen the commitment right throughout the last month and if not prior to that,” Maguire explained.

“We just haven’t been getting the last part of plays and various things on.

“The boys have been extremely committed and I’m really proud of them about how they’ve gone through this period.

“We get another opportunity on Friday.”
