Tevita Cottrell Added to Fiji Side

Rabbitohs Under 20s player, Tevita Cottrell, has been added to the Fiji ‘Bati’ side to take on Papua New Guinea this Saturday, May 7, at Pirtek Stadium as part of Representative Round.

The 108kg centre will take his place on Fiji’s bench wearing the number 16 jersey, and will play alongside the likes of North Sydney Bears players, Sitiveni Moceidreke (five-eighth), and another late call up in Jokatama Dokonivalu, who will also start from the bench.

Yet to make his first grade debut, Cottrell has played 28 games for South Sydney’s NYC side, scoring five tries in the process. He has previously played representative football for the Australian Schoolboys as well as for the NSW Under 18s – both in 2014.

Cottrell’s inclusion for Fiji takes the total number of active Rabbitohs during Representative Round to seven. Others include: Greg Inglis (Australia), Kirisome Auva’a (Samoa), Michael Oldfield (Tonga), Aaron Gray, Nathan Brown (City), and Siosifa Talakai (Junior Kiwis).

Dokonivalu’s addition meanwhile takes the total number of Bears players to three, with Moceidreke and Samisoni Langi (Tonga) also set to play.

Congratulations to both Tevita and Jokatama on their selection.
