Rabbitohs Support 2016 Council Footy Clinic

An enthusiastic band of students were on hand at Yarra Oval this morning (Tuesday) to enjoy a footy clinic with Rabbitohs players, thanks to Souths Cares, Randwick City Council, and NRL Development.

The students, who hailed from Matraville and South Sydney High Schools, as well as La Perouse Public, spent the morning being run through their paces by Rabbitohs players before enjoying a question and answer session.

Souths Cares General Manager, Brock Schaefer, praised the involvement of Randwick City Council in hosting the event and helping to deliver positive messages to the local students.

“Randwick City Council are a massive supporter of Souths Cares – they’re a massive supporter of the community and certainly the Football Club as well,” said Brock.

“Today we’ve managed to bring down a number of schools from inside the Randwick LGA to have great fun and also an educational clinic down at Yarra Bay Oval.

From taking time out to chat, to signing autographs and posing for photos, Rabbitohs players made the most of the morning as they encouraged those present to stay fit, healthy and active – an initiative close to the hearts of Souths Cares and the Rabbitohs.

“We’ve got a great squad of players across the board,” said Brock.

“Every single one of the boys really cares about what it means to be a Rabbitoh, and part of that is supporting the community.

“Whether it’s a clinic today or whether it’s out in schools, community groups, in hospitals, the boys really take it seriously and deliver some great work.”
