Off the back of a stellar debut season, Tyrell Fuimaono is training hard to get himself ready for the start of the 2018 season.
Currently training away from the main playing group while he recovers from some minor surgery, Fuimaono believes the team has really pulled together after a gruelling season.
“It has been a pretty tough preseason this year unfortunately I had to get a few operations done and the end of last year’s season so I’m in the injured squad at the moment doing a fair bit of running,” said Fuimaono.
“Watching from the side though you can see the boys are really pulling together throughout this preseason with a bit of hardship, they’re training really well.”
Debuting back in round ten this year Fuimaono played every game after that in numerous positions but the talented utility does have a slight preference as to where he plays on the park.
Tyrell Fuimaono“I just want to be there playing week in week out”
“I do prefer to play centre, but at the end of the day I just like to play footy in general so wherever I can get a spot each week, you won’t hear much from me I’m just there to play.”
A part of a group of young Souths players who are looking to build on the opening season in the NRL, Fuimaono is focused on one goal ahead of the 2018 season.
“I just want to play consistent NRL each week despite what position, I just want be there playing week in week out.”
