Rabbitohs Start Off-Season With Visit To Children's Hospital

Souths Cares and the Rabbitohs playing squad started their off-season in a admirable way by putting on a BBQ for patients, staff and their family at the Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick.

The entire Rabbitohs playing squad was present to host the free BBQ and mingle with enthusiastic children at the Hospital before heading into the wards to visit patients and present them with Rabbitohs goodies.

It was a great day for the children as they got a chance to meet their favourite Rabbitohs players and a great reminder to the playing group of their importance as role-models in society.

This visit tops off a series of visits organised by South Cares to the Sydney Children's Hospital and the Prince of Wales Hospital where players have been consistently giving their time to help those in need.

"A lot of players you look at now are role-models within communities and if you can give back a little bit of time and affect one person's life then we're making a difference which is what it's all about," said Rabbitohs Forward Sam Burgess.

"We're down at the Children's Hostpital in Sydney. We go around and see hundreds of kids and hundreds of families and if we can make a difference in a couple of people's lives then today's been a great day."
