PREMIUM: Catching Up With...Scott Geddes

One-club ex-Rabbitoh player, Scott Geddes, had a chat with South Sydney Rabbitohs Media as he attended Souths training on Tuesday.

Geddes signed with the Rabbitohs in the 2002 season, the same year Souths were re-instated into the NRL. By 2012 Geddes was one of the longest playing current members of the club.

In 2009, Geddes scored the winning try in round 26 against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and went on to receive Clubman of the Year 2009. However, Geddes most memorable moment in his career was making the 2012 qualifying final in his retiring year.

“I didn’t get to play in that game but it was a real buzz being involved in that whole process.” Said Geddes.

Although rattled with injury during his 11 year playing career, Geddes continued on with his footy, playing through the 2012 season with a ruptured right bicep after sustaining the injury in a pre-season trial against the Warriors.

Geddes, a qualified personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach, owns and operates First Grade Fitness, a gym specialising in group and personal training in Maroubra.

On top of running his business, Geddes spends some time helping out in the Rabbitohs gym and commented on the current squad and 2016 season.

“Obviously it’s been a pretty challenging year for us but if we can bring the same energy and the same enthusiasm that we did last weekend then I can’t see why we can’t finish off the rest of the season with a few wins and just start to get the ball rolling for next year.”
