Keary – Stay Positive And Learn

The effort was there, the result not quite. Rabbitohs half Luke Keary admits that while the close loss to the Panthers has left him disappointed, the team will maintain the positive mood that has seen them improve weekly.

With the team’s focus shifting onto next week’s trip to Cairns to face the North Queensland Cowboys, Keary believes that Coach Maguire and his teammates will take the right mentality into preparation for the Barlow Park clash.

“He (Michael Maguire) tries to stay positive and we try to learn as much as we can out of those types of games and just move on to next week," Keary said.

“Obviously the Cowboys are one of the top sides, they have been for a couple of years. We’ll go up there, we enjoy going up to Cairns and Sutto is playing his 250th which will give us a little bit of incentive to get up there and get a win for him.”

With John Sutton set to mark his 250th appearance for the South Sydney Rabbitohs there is extra motivation in the playing ranks to produce a strong performance when the Rabbitohs take the field against the Cowboys.

“It’s pretty big for this Club. He’s a great bloke and one of our leaders so it’ll be good to get up there for him,” Keary explained.
