Rabbitohs Forward George Burgess admits it's been a tough year for him as he struggled with injury and mid-season surgery but says he's now feeling the best he has all year.
Big George Burgess was sidelined with a groin injury after our Round 11 win over the St George Illawarra Dragons and underwent surgery to remedy the issue - This saw Burgess miss eight weeks of our 2016 NRL campaign.
Returning in Round 19, Burgess added a new physicality to the Rabbitohs front row which saw us improve and notch a four wins in our last four fixtures of the season.
"Personally, it's been a tough year for me with my body and recovering from surgery," said Burgess.
"The body's good. It's the best its felt all year,
"It's something that I'm proud that I've gone through and I'm looking forward to a bit of a break now and getting my body right for next year."
In his 660 minutes played this year Burgess managed to notch up 405 tackles at an effectiveness of 93.5% and break 18 tackles.
