Hudson's Make-A-Wish

Hudson Chadwick met his favourite player Damien Cook and the Rabbitohs iconic Mascot, Reggie the Rabbit over the weekend thanks to the Make-A-Wish Australia.

Hudson has d-2-hydroxyglutaric aciduria, a condition that causes progressive damage to the brain. Yet despite his rare condition, Hudson’s Make-A-Wish was to see the Rabbitohs play.

The Rabbitohs were honoured to accommodate this request and Hudson was treated to a private tour of the Simply Energy High Performance at Redfern Oval before watching the Captains Run prior to the Rabbitohs Round 17 clash with the Penrith Panthers.

On game day, along with his family, Hudson stood on the field for the team run out where Rabbitohs players, Damien Cook and Jason Clark stopped to say hi to him and give him a hug before they made their way to their positions.

Firstly a big thank you to @makeawishaust for making this possible and to @ssfcrabbitohs team (special mentions @jaceclark ) for making it a extra special weekend. Hudson being apart of the #makeawishfoundation gave himself and his family the opportunity to come down to sydney to spend the weekend with myself and @ssfcrabbitohs and I was truly honored to be apart of your special weekend . I hope you and your family @chaddy83 had a great time an all the best . See you guys again soon

Cook also wrote Hudson’s name on his wrist strapping, playing the game in honour of his new friend.

The experience ended with access to the post-game experience in the sheds where Hudson had more photos taken with his favourite players.

These are the stories that should be told..! Absolute outstanding @damiencook91 and @jaceclark for making little Hudson's wish come true..! @makeawishaust @ssfcrabbitohs 👏🏽👏🏽
