Hudson Chadwick met his favourite player Damien Cook and the Rabbitohs iconic Mascot, Reggie the Rabbit over the weekend thanks to the Make-A-Wish Australia.
Hudson has d-2-hydroxyglutaric aciduria, a condition that causes progressive damage to the brain. Yet despite his rare condition, Hudson’s Make-A-Wish was to see the Rabbitohs play.
The Rabbitohs were honoured to accommodate this request and Hudson was treated to a private tour of the Simply Energy High Performance at Redfern Oval before watching the Captains Run prior to the Rabbitohs Round 17 clash with the Penrith Panthers.
On game day, along with his family, Hudson stood on the field for the team run out where Rabbitohs players, Damien Cook and Jason Clark stopped to say hi to him and give him a hug before they made their way to their positions.
Cook also wrote Hudson’s name on his wrist strapping, playing the game in honour of his new friend.
The experience ended with access to the post-game experience in the sheds where Hudson had more photos taken with his favourite players.
