Clark Keeping Up the Intensity

Rabbitohs forward, Jason Clark and his men, continue to take advantage of this week’s bye as the men in Red and Green prepare to take on the Gold Coast Titans in Perth in Round 13.

“We’ve had three intense days,” said Clark of the Club’s bye-week training regime.

“It’s been good, the boys are laughing and enjoying it and (are) enjoying ripping in. So it’s been good – we’re coming into a little break now which will be really good for us to freshen up.”

But the excitement hasn’t been confined to the training paddock this week, with Clark expressing his enthusiasm for fellow teammate and Souths Junior, Adam Reynolds’ inclusion in NSWs State of Origin side for Game I of the 2016 Series next Wednesday. Reynolds will line up against Club skipper, Greg Inglis, who will represent the Maroons.

“I’ve grown up with ‘Reyno’ and watched him play, and watching him grow over the years has been awesome,” said Clark.

“For him to make that achievement – it’s a big thing for himself and his family. I know his family will be very proud of him – I was a bit surprised ‘Greggy’ (Greg Inglis) got in, I didn’t think he’d get picked,” laughed Clark. “We always support our boys, and that’s the main thing.”

Clark also addressed the burning question about his ‘new look’, having been stitched up following the Club’s Round 10 clash against the Eels.

“It’s not too bad,” smiled Clark showing off his scar.

“It looks a little bit better than what it was – the ‘Doc’ (did) a great job obviously with the stitching, so I can’t complain there and the wife’s pretty happy with it.”
