With the end of financial year fast approaching, now is the perfect time to show your support for Souths Cares and make a tax-deductible donation to the charity.
Established in 2006, Souths Cares is an independent charity which delivers education, training, employment and health promotion programs to support disadvantaged and marginalised youth and their families.
Souths Cares is currently achieving outcomes for our community. Some key highlights of the charity’s impact include:
Deadly Youth Mentoring Program
An early intervention program for Indigenous youth at-risk of entering the Juvenile Justice system. Over 80% of participants have had no contact with the Juvenile Justice system in the 12 months after completing the intensive mentoring program.
Nanga Mai Marri (Dream Big) Program
A school-to-work mentoring program for Indigenous high school students. 92% of participants graduate with their HSC and 85% of participants successfully transition into education, training and/or employment after finishing school.
Rabbitohs Wellbeing Program
A health promotion program delivered in primary and high schools, focusing on key topics such as eSafety, anti-bullying, oral health, nutrition and healthy relationships. The program has already engaged 11,000+ students in 2021, with the target of reaching 20,000 students before the end of year.
Liverpool Opportunity Hub
A holistic education, employment and cultural support program for Indigenous school students within Liverpool LGA. The program is currently supporting over 200 participants each week.
Souths Cares also facilitates a range of bespoke programs and initiatives including breakfast bootcamps, homework hubs, leadership camps, NAIDOC festivals and all-inclusive Rugby League clinics.
