One of the youngest players to surpass 100 NRL tries, Alex Johnston is an out-and-out speedster and fan favourite.
A character off the field, Johnston began his rugby league journey at La Perouse Panthers before making his way through the ranks and debuting in the Premiership season of 2014.

That season he finished top tryscorer on 21 tries from just 18 games including picking up the first four-pointer of the Grand Final. In 2017 he beat that fete scoring 22 tries. He later surpassed that accolade in 2020, again being crowned the top tryscorer on 23 tries for the year (including finals); scoring five tries in the last regular season match against the Roosters.
While Johnston’s greatest asset is his speed, he is very safe under the high ball having played a lot of fullback in his juniors as well as first grade. AJ only needs the smallest of gaps to turn a ‘half-opportunity’ into something special - an absolute nightmare to mark for any opposition winger.
