The South Sydney Rabbitohs are mourning the passing of Life Member, former clubman and volunteer in Mr Russell Pratt, who died earlier this morning from a heart attack, aged 78.
Mr Russell Edwin Pratt was born in 1942 in Come By Chance near Walgett in NSW, and played junior football with St Marys.
Mr Pratt, nicknamed ‘The Dog Catcher’ was a life-long supporter of the South Sydney Rabbitohs and he started his long association with the club as a Groundsman in 1975-77, Doorkeeper in 1978-79, Dressing Room Security in 1980, Refreshment Steward in 1981-99, Redfern Oval Maintenance Committee in 1982-88 and on the Schools’ Committee in 1987-93. He still had his original membership card, number 33.
Mr Pratt was inducted as a Life Member of the South Sydney Football Club at the 82nd Annual General Meeting held at the South Sydney Leagues Club in Redfern on 3 December 1988.
