On This Day: The Rabbitohs ignited a dream run of form in 1980

On this day in 1980, Souths beat Balmain 18-6 at Leichhardt Oval to ignite a nine game winning streak.

Before the winning-streak they were at the bottom-end of the ladder then eventually made the semi final.

Robert 'Rocky' Laurie was instrumental in igniting this run of form, so much so he was awarded the inaugural Dally M Medal later that year.
