On This Day in 1970 Souths versed Balmain in a Grand Final rematch.

Not only was it a highly-anticipated contest but the match was played in front of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Speedy winger, Ray Branighan crossed for two tries as the Rabbitohs chalked up a 14-5 victory!

Branighan, one of eight Kangaroo representatives in the squad, played an integral role in the Rabbitohs' success by finishing his opportunities from the wing.
