As 2019 comes to end, the Souths Cares team are taking a well earned break after having delivered another massive year with Health and Wellbeing Programs across NSW.
Some of our charity’s achievements in 2019 include:
- 12,000 students completed our Wellbeing Program.
- 6,950 students completed our Oral Health Workshops.
- Four regional health tours (Albury, Wellington, Central Coast and Sunshine Coast)
- 7,500+ students from South Western Sydney participated in Souths Cares programs.
Megan Van Deinsen, a Primary School teacher in the local area was thrilled with the Souths Cares Wellbeing Program.
“It was lovely to meet you and we loved having you all,” said Mrs. Van Deinsen.
“I had so many teachers and students alike tell me that they learned so much; especially about how to properly care for their teeth.
“The kids loved it and so did the staff and thank you again for spending the day with us.”
Alex Mecham, Health and Education Programs Lead was thrilled with the impact Souths Cares had on the community in 2019.
“It’s been a year of growth for Health and Wellbeing Programs which has seen us visit a wide range of schools and communities across Sydney, regional NSW and interstate,” Ms. Mecham said.
“There continues to be a strong demand for our programs in South Western Sydney and with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health, we were able to reach close 7,000 primary school students in the region”.
