The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce their 21-man NRL squad for their round 24 fixture against the New Zealand Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium this Friday 30 August at 8pm NZT (6pm AEST).
Head Coach Wayne Bennett has named Campbell Graham in the centres, replacing the suspended James Roberts with Alex Johnston returning from injury on the wing. Captain Sam Burgess comes back into the front row with Kyle Turner and Ethan Lowe added to the interchange bench.
The Rabbitohs Canterbury Cup side has the opportunity to secure the minor premiership when they take on the Wentworthville Magpies at the Metricon High Performance Centre at Redfern Oval on Saturday 31 August at 4pm, the final game to be played at the spiritual home of the Rabbitohs for season 2019.
The curtain raiser match at Redfern Oval at 2:15pm on Saturday is the Rabbitohs Jersey Flegg Cup side up against the Sydney Roosters as the young Rabbitohs look to push for a top four finish in the under 20s competition against their arch rivals.
With the NRL action for the Rabbitohs in Auckland this weekend, the Club is urging all Members and supporters based in Sydney to head to the Metricon High Performance Centre at Redfern Oval on Saturday to support the Canterbury Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup teams in the final round of the regular season in both of these competitions.
Members and supporters can enjoy a fun, community-focused day out at the footy with a Garlo’s Pie and a Young Henry’s beer, or a sausage sizzle and a soft drink, followed by a delicious dessert from the Bar Coco dessert truck. This is a dog-friendly event so all members of the family are welcome at Redfern Oval this weekend. All dogs must be on a leash before entering Redfern Oval. Tickets are just $5 for Rabbitohs Members, $10 for non-Members and all kids under 12 get free entry!
There will also be a huge South Sydney merchandise sale at the Rabbitohs Merchandise Store on Level 4, 265 Chalmers St in Redfern, directly across the road from Redfern Oval, on Saturday 31 August from 1pm. There is up to 60% off selected items in the range and the first 40 customers to spend over $100 in store will receive a free Rabbitohs lunch box valued at $19. Rabbitohs international player George Burgess will also be making an in-store visit between 1:30pm and 2:15pm on Saturday to meet and greet Members and supporters before the games commence across at Redfern Oval.
