Simon ready to take Origin by storm

South Sydney Rabbitohs winger and NSW debutant Taleena Simon can't the smile off her face as she gets set to represent her state tomorrow night at North Sydney Oval.

The try-scoring phenom has been in lightning form this season, topping the Harvey Norman Women's NSW Premiership's try scorers list.

Going into her first match wearing Blue you could forgive Simon for being a little nervous but luckily for the former Australian 7's star, she will have some familiar faces around her with four of her fellow teammates joining her on the field.

"I'm pretty excited and grateful for the opportunity,'" said Simon.

"Pretty much I've got Lavina (O'Mealey), Nakia (Davis-Welsh), Becca (Rebecca Riley) and Maddie (Studdon) so I'm pretty excited to play alongside the girls and make my debut for the Blues."

Simon's red-hot try-scoring form went to new heights against the Wentworthville Magpies when the speedster scored a huge six tries in the one match. However, Simon was quick to credit the outstanding work from her teammates.

"Without a doubt, it's coming off the work from the forward without them I wouldn't be where I am today scoring tries," said Simon.

"They're definitely a great bunch of girls, we're always pushing each other at training I love being a part of this team."

Having played a number of sports throughout her career, Simon is happy being back in the Redfern playing for the Club she loves and can't wait to get back out in the Red and Green after rep footy to bring home the accolades for the Club.

"I've just always wanted to come back to the community and the play for the community sides," said Simon

"Now I'm playing for South Sydney, it's a dream come true."
