'It's a dream come true' - Studdon

South Sydney Rabbitohs women's halfback and new NSW Women's State of Origin captain Maddie Studdon says it's a "dream come true" to be pulling on the armband for the Blues next Friday night.

"It means a lot obviously, I've been around the rugby league world for a lot of years now I started playing when I was four years old so it's a dream come true," Studdon explained.

Including Studdon there were five Rabbitohs selected to play for the Blues giving NSW quite the Red and Green flair, which Studdon says is a great boost for the side.

"Definitely having these Souths girls out there will be a massive help I'm really proud of how we've been going this year and I can't wait to lead the girls out on North Sydney Oval and hopefully it's a good result," said Studdon.

With a big couple of weeks ahead Studdon is focused on keeping the body in tip-top shape with the Harvey Norman Premiership finals right around the corner. But for now, the star halfback is just enjoying her special moment

"It is an amazing feeling it's a massive honour for myself, it's big shoes to fill with after Ruan Sims after her injury but I can't wait to run out on Friday night."
