'We'll be ready' - Allende

South Sydney Rabbitohs women's team Head Coach Danny Allende says his side will be ready to bounce back after their loss of the season.

Going down 24-4 to CRL Newcastle at Morey Breen Oval yesterday, Allende witnessed an uncharacteristic performance from his previously unbeaten side but said he couldn't fault the effort game the team displayed.

"They didn't stop trying and we had a lot of girls playing out of position one of the girls got a call-up late and had to drag their kids out here," said Allende.

"So not an ideal preparation but I can't fault their commitment and their dedication to try and win the game."

The loss brings to an end an incredible run and Allende, although disappointed was extremely proud how far the team had come and credited a Newcastle side that was simply the better side on the day.

"The girls have worked hard to get to where they are now," Allende explained.

"But Newcastle played well all credit to them they were well prepared, they were down on troops as well but they just came here ready to play and they look the better team in every area."

With two weeks off now, Allende knows that there is work to do before their next game but has no doubt the girls will be up for the task.

"We had a draw and I thought that would shake us up a bit but the loss should really have an effect," said Allende.

"We've got a decent break now so we need to train hard and be ready for Canterbury, there is a logjam between the teams fighting for a place in the top four but we'll be ready for the challenge."
