Judiciary update - Sam and George Burgess

South Sydney Rabbitohs forwards Sam Burgess is banned for two matches and George Burgess will receive a fine after both accepted early guilty pleas from their charges against the Canberra Raiders.

Sam Burgess was hit with a Grade 2 careless high tackle charge following an incident involving Aidan Sezer in the 59th minute of Saturday's match.

Sam has opted to take the early guilty plea, which now means he will miss the next two matches. The base penalty for the charge is 150 points, however with loading due to one similar and two non-similar prior offences, in addition to the 25 carry over points to be added, an early guilty plea means a 238 point charge and a two-match suspension.

George Burgess was hit with a Grade 1 careless high tackle charge following a hit on Luke Bateman in the 71st minute of the match. With two prior non-similar offences contributing a 20% loading, George has decided to take the early guilty plea resulting in a fine of $1550. George will not miss any playing time as a result of the charge.
