Allende ecstatic with Rabbitohs defence

South Sydney Rabbitohs women’s Coach Danny Allende was really impressed with his side’s defence against Cronulla-Caringbah and wants his team to continue their great work off the ball.

Having only conceded four tries in their first three games, Allende wants to keep the Rabbitohs’ impeccable defence in shape.

“Our defence has really been impressive,” said Allende.

“I think we’ve only had four tries scored against us so far, so we’re looking forward to continuing to attack with our defence and keep our defence tight.”

With the Sharks winning by more than 100 points last weekend, the Rabbitohs were extremely respectful of their opponent’s ability, which Allende believes played a key factor in the Red and Green's ruthless performance.

“We know what Cronulla are about, they’re a great team and we respect them dearly,” said Allende.

“Scorelines don’t mean anything when you come up against Cronulla. They’re usually tight and go right up until the last hit-up and we’re looking forward to our next duel against them.”

With the comfortable 40-6 win over their “arch-rivals”, the Rabbitohs have moved to the top of the ladder after an undefeated start, and Allende wants their great form to continue into next week.

“We’re looking forward to continuing what we’re doing best, but there’s still a lot of mistakes that we’re making out there,” said Allende.

“We just wanted to concentrate on our own game. We want to get better each week and improve what we can control.”
